About Dr. Kate Harper
Medical background
I completed my medical training in London, graduating from medical school in 2013 with a distinction. My early medical career was rich and diverse: as part of my training, I gained valuable experience in intensive care in Khartoum, Sudan, and paediatric anaesthesia in Mendoza, Argentina. These experiences helped shape my commitment to delivering expert, compassionate care in a variety of clinical settings.
Following my graduation, I spent two years working in Northampton, rotating through medicine, surgery, A&E, GP, anaesthetics, and intensive care. During this time, I also gained pre-hospital experience with the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and began my long-standing involvement with the prestigious international equestrian event: Burghley Horse Trials, providing medical support for top level event riders across all three disciplines of eventing as well a holding the position as the lead clinician for managing head injuries.
My passion for acute and emergency care led me to rural South Africa, where I worked in a district hospital in the Eastern Cape. There, I ran my own emergency department, provided obstetric anaesthetic care, and developed surgical skills in obstetrics, strengthening my experience and expertise in high-pressure and low resource settings.
On returning to the UK, I moved to Cheltenham, where I spent three formative years undertaking anaesthetic training as well as twelve months working in Intensive Case during the first part of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, I was successful in gaining a senior registrar training post in the prestigious Wessex region, where I continue to work today alongside my role at Harper & Co. Aesthetics.
With my depth of medical expertise, calm professionalism, and passion for excellence, I ensure that every client at Harper & Co. Aesthetics receives the very best care whilst combining medical artistry with patient-centered results.
My Journey Into Aesthetics
My journey into the world of aesthetics was born from a deep-rooted passion for helping people feel confident and empowered in their own skin. I am fascinated by the connection between how we look and how we feel, and how small changes can make a profound difference in self-esteem and quality of life.
With a background in medicine, I have spent years working closely with people, understanding their concerns, and supporting their well-being. Over time, I have seen firsthand how feeling good on the outside can positively impact someone's inner confidence, relationships, and even career. I realised I wanted to do more than just support, I wanted to actively help people enhance their natural beauty in subtle, meaningful ways.
This led me to pursue formal training in aesthetics, training under the careful guidance of world renowned Professor Bob Khanna and at reputable training academies. I have dedicated myself to learning the safest, most advanced techniques to deliver natural-looking, beautiful results. My philosophy has always been about enhancing what you already have. Not changing who you are, but helping you feel like the best version of yourself.
Today, aesthetics is not just my career; it’s my passion. Every treatment, every consultation is an opportunity to make a positive difference in someone's life. Whether it's smoothing fine lines, restoring volume, or simply giving someone a renewed sense of confidence, I feel incredibly privileged to do what I love every single day.
I believe that when you look good, you feel good.
Life beyond medicine
While my career in medicine is a huge part of who I am, there is so much more that shapes the person behind the practice. Life outside of medicine is filled with the people, animals, and activities that keep me grounded, inspired, and committed to health and wellbeing.
First and foremost, I’m a proud wife and mummy. Watching my son grow is one of the greatest joys of my life. Spending time with him, whether it's simple everyday moments or new adventures, reminds me of what truly matters and keeps me focused on living a balanced and fulfilling life.
I'm also lucky to share my days with my loyal cocker spaniel and my beautiful horse. Dog walking and hacking through the countryside are some of my favorite ways to unwind, connect with nature, and keep active. These moments outdoors, whether it's a peaceful early morning ride or a breezy afternoon walk, give me space to recharge and appreciate the simple pleasures of life.
Health and wellbeing are a huge part of my personal philosophy. I love trialling new healthy recipes, exploring fresh, nourishing foods, and finding fun, sustainable ways to move my body through exercise. Taking care of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally ensures I can give my best not only to my family, but also to the people who trust me with their aesthetic journey.
