The stats

A staggering 85% of men and 50% of women will experience hair thinning in their lifetime and 75% report that it negatively affects their confidence.

Polynucleotides: What are they and how do they work?

Polynucleotides are long chains of DNA which are sourced from salmon or trout sperm DNA. They undergo a process of high purification, whereby all traces of protein are removed and are then suspended in water and available as an injectable treatment.

When injected into the scalp, polynucleotides help to activate dormant hair follicles, enhance blood flow and cellular communication, which in turn stimulates the natural hair growth process.

This advanced treatment is designed to promote your own natural hair growth, resulting in thicker, stronger and healthier hair.

A course of treatments is recommended and as the action of polynucleotides is at the cellular level, you will start to notice the benefits usually after your second or third treatment.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Polynucleotides have a long standing record of being a safe and effective injectable treatment and almost everyone is suitable. However, hair can become thinner for a number of reasons, some causes are treatable and others are not. Treatable conditions include: post partum, post menopausal, female and male pattern baldness, seasonal shedding and stress.

You will first need a consultation to assess if the cause of your hair loss is treatable and to ensure this treatment is right for you.

What about a hair transplant?

Unlike a hair transplant, polynucleotides are a minimally invasive option to address areas of thinning hair. The treatment is quick, typically well tolerated with minimal discomfort and with little to no downtime, you can continue your normal daily activities following your treatment. A course of treatment is required, and is usually significantly more affordable than a hair transplant with long lasting results.

However, if you have had a hair transplant or are considering one, then polynucleotides are a great treatment choice to consider in combination with a transplant for optimal results.

Which areas can be treated?

Treatment can be targeted to specific areas of hair thinning affecting the scalp or even the eyebrows!

At Harper & Co. Aesthetics, I have carefully researced the different polynucleotide products available, and offer only the best products with an excellent safety profile. I am excited to offer the brand Plinest (formally known as Plenhyage) and it is only available in medical clinics.

If you suffer from hair thinning and would like more information to find out if this treatment is right for you, book your consultation today.
